The Recovery Community of Atlantic County and Southern New Jersey is Large and Diverse

We are people who had formal treatment and people who did not have a formal treatment experience.

And we are the families, friends and allies of those people.

We are people who spent a lot of time "in the rooms", swear by the 12 steps and are sure that they had saved our lives -  and we are also people who went to those same "rooms" and did not find them useful for us.

And we are the families, friends and allies of those people.

We are people who started our recovery in a doctor's office on a medication regimen .

We are people who started our recovery in a house of worship and through a faith-based approach.

We are people who started our recovery at a recovery community organization (RCO).

And we are the families, friends and allies of those people.

There is no commitment by joining or registering as a member of  the recovery community but opportunities to give back and be a part of this movement are in  abundance.

Registering simply means that you acknowledge, in confidence,  that you or someone you love has suffered from a substance use disorder now or at some point in time. The definition of the recovery community is "people seeking or in recovery from a substance use disorder, including alcoholism, or a family member, friend and/or ally, including those who have lost a loved one to this disease".

While you are not committing to anything by joining the recovery community and will not be identified outside of Recovery Force it is important to join/register to enable us to determine the size of Atlantic County and South Jersey's recovery community so that we can eventually find our voice in matters that affect us.
