A remembrance vigil will be the final event of South Jersey's Overdose Awareness Day and will be held at the William Morrow Beach, located at Higbee and the Bay in Somers Point. It is imperative to submit a loved-ones name through the Recovery Force website no later than 10 days prior to the event. This will allow for the necessary verifications to occur so that content accuracy is achieved. Remembering the lives lost to the opioid epidemic is important as we also work to restore their dignity through educating the community based on science. As science continues to reveal the onset of this disease in childhood, the tissue damage in regions of the brain associated with our hard wiring for survival - and how we are vulnerable to brain damage or injury due to the delicate nature of this organ during adolescent years. Bolstered by the collusion between the FDA and Purdue Pharma to release a flood-gate of opioid prescriptions, enabled by a colossal failure within the FDA.
